FOUR STEPS TO A BEAUTIFUL INTERIOR PAINT JOB
1-Setup
*A paint addendum that identifies each room and the exact color that each wall will be painted will be done before any work is started
*Rooms and areas to be painted are scheduled with the customer
*Customer moves all small furniture and breakables JM PAINTING will move large furniture into the center of the room when specified on the contract
*Wall and ceiling fixtures are removed
*Furniture is covered with plastic or canvas drop cloths
*Floors are covered with drop cloths
2-Preparation
*Walls are scuff-sanded
*Holes and cracks in walls are filled
*Stains, such as water marks, are sealed
*Washing is done where required
*Repaired areas are primed
3-Painting
*Paint is applied with a brush or roller depending on the surface
*Ceiling and walls are painted to proper coverage and finish color
*Clean cut lines between trim & walls
*Only premium quality paints are used such as Sherwin Williams, Ben Moore, California and Cabot's Stains
4-Clean-Up
*Furniture is moved back to original positions
*Wall and ceiling fixtures are replaced
*Floors and carpets are thoroughly vacuumed and swept
*All garbage is removed
*Touch-up paint is labeled and left with the customer
DOING A VERY NICE EXTERIOR PAINT JOB 1.Preparation
*Environmentally-friendly detergent or bleach is used to remove dirt & mildew as required
*Delicate areas are hand-washed
*Loose paint chips are cleaned up
*House is given time to dry
*Driveways & decks cleaned upon request
*Full scrape to remove all loose and peeling paint
*All bare areas are primed
*Glossy areas are scuff-sanded to ensure that finish coat bonds strongly
*Feather-sanding done upon request
*Cracked, loose and missing caulking around doors and windows will be replaced
2. Painting
*Drop cloths are used at all times to prevent any drips or spills
*Full finish coat(s) applied by Brush and/or Rollers to ensure proper coverage & finish
*Second coat is available upon request or when specified by the contract
*Premium Paint such as Sherwin Williams, Ben Moore, California and Cabot's Stains
3. Clean-Up
*Performed daily and upon completion of the job
*Plant beds cleaned and paint chips removed
*Touch-up paint is labeled & left with the customer
*Outdoor fixtures & furniture left as we found them |
FINAL INSPECTION
*First the crew will do a final inspection on their own to ensure that all work is complete as agreed on the contract, that there are not any touch ups and that all clean up is complete
*Second the crew will ask the customer to inspect the job and any areas of concern will be noted on a 'punch list'
*Once all areas are complete and to the customers satisfaction, the crew will ask to have the 'Job Rating Card' completed in addition to requesting an honest letter of reference
*The crew will receive a bonus assuming that they receive a 5/5 rating and a positive letter of reference from the customer
*The final step is for the customer to sign off on the job as to its completeness and submit the final payment
OUR WARRANTY
For a period of 36 months, JM PAINTING warrants against peeling, blistering or chipping of paint resulting from defective workmanship.
For this warranty to be effective, you, the consumer, must:
1-Pay the full contract price
2-Complete the final job sign off section on the original contract
3-Retain a copy of the original contract
What JM PAINTING Company will do:
1-Perform any covered repairs at no labor cost to the original purchaser
2-Perform any covered repairs during the summer months so long as JM PAINTING is notified prior to July 15. In cases where JM PAINTING is notified after July 15, covered repairs will be performed the following summer
THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER:
*The cost of paint. You should contact the paint manufacturer to obtain information regarding any warranties they may provide
*Any conditions existing at the time the work was completed which a reasonable inspection of the work would have revealed (i.e. areas not painted)
*Any work where the client supplies the paint unless approved by JM Painting
*Failure due to moisture damage
*Wooden gutters and painted or stained roofs
*Varnished surfaces
*Lap marks
*Fading, chalking
*Any surface that maintains a horizontal position (decks, railings, stairs, porches, etc.)
*Galvanized metal
*Bleeding knot holes, rust stains and cedar bleed
*Mildew is an environmental condition, no connection with a paint job
*Failure due to structural or design problems with the house
*Paint match; we will match paint color as closely as possible. However, repairs performed one to two years later are not likely to match perfectly
THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS THE ONLY EXPRESS WARRANTY MADE BY JM PAINTING AND IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. THIS WARRANTY IS APPLICABLE ONLY TO PAINTING SERVICES PROVIDED TO THE ORIGINAL PURCHASER. JM PAINTING WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM BREACH OF THIS WARRANTY. |
